ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

 Kayden J. Merritt is a multidisciplinary theater artist, director, producer, and dramaturg whose work spans live performance, music, and visual art. They serve as the Artistic Director for Mass Delusion Company, where some of their directing credits include Tracy Letts’s BUG  and Caryl Churchill's A Number. As an assistant director and collaborator, they have worked with Nancy Keystone on Churchill’s Love & Information, Ilse Castro-Corona’s Volver, and as an assistant to Carl Hancock Rux on Lincoln Center's Some Sing: A Juneteenth Celebration. 

Also an accomplished performer and musician, Kayden has appeared onstage at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall, The Walt Disney Modular Theater, The Connelly, and The West-End Theatre, with notable musical theater roles in Urinetown (Lockstock), Ragtime (Tateh), and Assassins (Samuel Byck). Their diverse background includes an education from the California Institute of the Arts and Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, alongside training and artistic Development with institutions such as the NY Philharmonic Young Composers, The New York Youth Symphony, Theatrical Rights Worldwide, Mabou Mines, Broadway for All, and the New York Theater Workshop.
